About Us
What We Believe
At St. John’s United Church of Christ of Mifflinburg, we believe in the living God; Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, who creates, redeems, and sustains all life. We trust the Bible as the inspired Word of God, through which God continues to speak, guide, and shape our faith and practice.
We believe in Jesus Christ, whose life, death, and resurrection reveal God’s grace, mercy, and saving love. Salvation is God’s gift; freely given, not earned, and calls us into a transformed life marked by faith, humility, compassion, and hope. We believe the Holy Spirit is actively at work in the church and the world, renewing hearts, strengthening disciples, and guiding God’s people through times of change, challenge, and growth.
As a congregation, we believe the church is called to be rooted in Christ and reaching out in love. We affirm that all people are created in the image of God and are welcome in the life of the church. Our faith is lived out through meaningful worship, intentional discipleship, caring relationships, service to our neighbors, and a commitment to justice and mercy.
We believe God continues to grow the church, spiritually and numerically, through faithful worship, genuine relationships, healing from past hurts, and a willingness to share the good news of Christ with our community and beyond. Trusting that God is still at work, we seek to follow with courage, hope, and love.
